Jana Dasenbrock (*1986) is a Cologne based documentary photographer. She uses photography as a means of visual research on spatial use, social construction and identity. A professional training in the field of documentary photography and a humanities degree allow her to intersect artistic practise with technical expertise and conceptual thinking.

In 2023, she started working on a long-term photo essay documenting and reflecting the impact of Europe’s largest coal mining site on the surrounding landscape. For her latest project „Sediment“, Jana examines the Proust effect and performs an artistic variation of the phenomenon.
